BIUTIFUL

PITCH

VIEWING
'Artsy Fartsy' is too strong of a cliche' and isn't really that accurate when describing this picture, but let me tell ya... this film was all over the place. I thought they showed too much and spent way too much time on things that were not pertinent to the story.  It was almost as if the director was trying to put an exclamation point on too many ambient moments. Were there no editing done? I guess this is what happens when you consider ALL of your material too important to cut.
The movie definitely had moments that cut deep but then purposely ends with a climate of confusion. For most of the film I was uncertain on who I should be rooting for.  I guess every hero has dark secrets but where is the line?  I am now uncertain if I have one.
Great acting wasn't enough t to save this underachiever.  I give it a C.

Just Go With It Movie

 PITCH

--

VIEWING
Adam Sandler's brand of comedy is the most accurate definition of the phrase 'hit or miss'.  Stepping on rakes causing the handles to explode into the gents or slaps to the face for no reason and, especially, fat jokes sort of define his comedic perimeters.  Although Just Go With It had all of these attributes the story didn't depend on them to be successful.
Albeit predictable, I had a lot of fun getting to the conflict resolution. Every character in this movie was very interesting. How rare is it that the child stars outshines the Grown-ups! Both kids were very good but a gargantuan kudos! goes out to Bailee Madison.  Her acting skill set was incredible to watch.  You'll see what I'm talking about when you view this movie.
The women in this movie alone smh... nevermind. Such a talented cast lol!

I am Number Four

VIEWING
Honestly, I have learned some pertinent information by re-watching this trailer. Information that I wanted while in the theater.  The movie was vague at first, then it slowed down a lot. However, the paced picked up near the end from moderately to and incredible pace. In fact the ending was dang near perfect for the kind of movie this is.  Midway through, it began to feel too teen-age-gery, which may have been the target audience but everyone should be able to appreciate the action as well as the developing story as the movie roars to it's finale.
I am Number Four reminds me of Jumper [with Hayden Christensen] but with more... more of... everything.  Looks like it's destined to be a Cult classic but I am Number Four has potential that Jumper didn't.  It will be interesting to know how the public views/accepts this movie.

side note:  This movie produced the best 'pet' since Gozer's Demon Dogs from the original Ghostbusters

This movie is worth it, I give it a B+.

VIEWING
Fell asleep before the grand finale [10-15 minutes before the credits rolled].  Talk about being pissed at myself for losing consciousness and having to try and go back another day and see how it ended. Half-way home I decided that I would just find a torrent online. Shoot, I already paid for it and the movie was not that good.  You've seen this story at least 2-3 times and this version offered nothing new.
Got on the phone with my friend and he concurred what I thought was going to happen anyway.  He said his girl fell off to sleep and he should of followed.
I can't rate this movie yet in good conscience but be warned!

'The Mechanic'

VIEWING

Jason Statham is looking like Jean Reno in The Professional when he takes in an understudy and shows him the art of being a Mechanic.
This movie was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I was really into the story, all of the characters on screen where interesting. I don't remember it slowing down that much.

VIEWING
Wow. What an incredibly moving, touching and true story.  I could just imagine every communications instrucor at just about every University making an adjustment in their course syllabus for the viewing of this film.
I saw the film having not seen the trailer and I must say that, once again, the trailer showed way too much of the film.  I implore all of you to go see it anyhow.
Fantastic performances from EVERYONE on screen.
Shout-out to Guy Pearce [Fernand Mondego from The Count of Monte Cristo (one of my favorites)] He plays the butt-hole characters so well, maybe more so than James Woods.
Anyways, be prepared for this film and anyone having anything to do with this film snatching up all the Oscars Sunday night... If that happens it will be well deserved.

'The Dilemma'

VIEWING
I was very much into the story before the actual Dilemma started. After that happened, it was all downhill. The story had the feel of the BreakUp. Vince Vaughn's character was more annoying than funny. He handled that situation the worst way anybody could.

This movie marks the first time I saw Channing Tatum show emotion on screen.

Lastly, I thought Ron Howard did a good job directing, it wasn't his fault the movie sucked. Maybe in the future they would consider hiring new writers.

VIEWING
I must admit that I had zero intentions of seeing this flick, especially at the theater. Ballet, or any dance type movie just doesn't appeal to me. Mix in the creepy trailer and it was all set in my head that I might view it one day if a future girlfriend corners me in with the ultimatum...

Very seductive, very exotic and hauntingly exciting.  Trying to differentiate between fantasy and reality is only one of the test and trials the  viewers endure while digesting some of the most phenomenal cinema to grace a scene in some time.  From the relationship with her mom to the alleged love triangle, piecing this movie together was a monster of work albeit sweat-less labor. The direction of the film was dang near perfect.  All you really have to do is sit down and watch the anomaly of emotions unravel into a work of art!
I learned a lot about the craft of ballet from watching this film and I really appreciate that.  It is ALWAYS satisfying to leave the theater with more than you came in with.
Films earns an A from me.

'No Strings Attached'

 The Pitch

---

VIEWING

No Strings Attached left me 'dangling' in my seat for a little over a half of a hour fiening for entertainment. Wait, that was a bit harsh; There are moment(s) that may allow you to grin but then you are abruptly back waiting for the next fix.
The moral concept of the movie applies as it does in real real life. Friends with benefits never work because one of you will develop feelings.  Ashton's character was warned before the movie got underway by some random biker/jogger/dog walker [can't remember what the guy was doing].  Of course he's too excited to listen so we watch the inevitable then the resolution.
I have to say, once the movie decides to conclude itself the moments are really felt. I appreciated that.  It's kind of like a real expensive bow tie on some very impressive wrapping paper containing a very bland gift.
I give it a C. Marginally worth watching.
