The pitch for this movie comes across as a satire for "cop films" done Will Ferrell's way. Two partners opposite in breed take on New York’s bad guys 'Odd Couple' style.
The View
Conroy- First off, If you are not a fan of Ferrell's comedy, you will NOT enjoy this flick. The movie was not intended to be 'serious' even though there are moments when it looks like action sequences could have been copied and pasted from another sequel of Lethal Weapon. I laughed; Bottom line. I enjoy W. Ferrell's comedy and he didn't disappoint with THE OTHER GUYS! Based off this perception I give this movie a B! Worth Watching and worth laughing! Was it funnier than Talledega Nights? Nope; Even though it comes in at a close second... If you’re not first, you’re last.

Wow, I can't believe you two sold this movie this short. I went to the theatre and damn-near died from laughter. Like Amanda said, this movie wasn't hilariously funny, it was HYSTERICALLY funny. This movie had everything a good comedy is made of: great actors (Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Will Farrell, Mark Whalberg, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendez), suspense, tasteful jokes, action, sex appeal, etc. My only critique is that the movie did carry on a little too long. I feel if they cut about 15 minutes from the movie, it would have been slightly better. Overall, this is a refreshing comedy that gets an A+ in my book.
